Why RedZone

Why insurers trust the intelligence.

RZRisk evaluates wildfire hazard at a specific location using fire behavior, fuels, topography, weather, historical fire activity, the built environment, and response capabilities, then breaks the result into understandable scores and classifications. Crews and analysts work real incidents, and what they see in the field validates the models behind every score.

Frequently asked

Questions we get about RZRisk.

What is RZRisk?

A property-level wildfire risk score for underwriting. It combines wildfire intelligence with explainable scoring so underwriters can identify opportunity, avoid uninsurable exposure and price with greater precision, at the address rather than the territory.

How is an RZRisk score calculated?

From simulated fire behavior across fuels, terrain, weather and structure characteristics, tested against what real fires actually did. Roughly 20,000 years of simulated fire seasons sit behind each score, incorporating 40 vegetation and fuel models, and the results are validated against observed wildfire outcomes rather than simulation alone.

Can an RZRisk score be explained to a regulator or a policyholder?

Yes. Every score can be shown and defended, with the factors driving it visible. That matters for filings, for appeals and for the conversation with an agent who has to explain why a renewal changed.

Does RZRisk fit into existing underwriting systems?

Yes, three ways: an API into the systems underwriters already use, a map-based portal for on-demand analysis of a single property, and book-wide scoring delivered as a spreadsheet. The intent is that nobody has to change how they work to use it.
