Score resilience the way communities actually build it.
Static hazard maps cannot see the human side of wildfire defense. RZResiliency factors in governance, vegetation management, home construction averages and local firefighting resources, so a neighborhood is judged on how prepared it actually is rather than on terrain alone.

What is RZResiliency?
A Wildfire Resiliency Index that measures and visualizes the proactive mitigation an entire community has carried out. Where a hazard map scores the environment — terrain, fuels, weather — this scores how well a neighborhood is preparing, through vegetation management, building hardening, community planning and local response capability.
How do the map and search work?
You start on an interactive map of the western United States and search an address, city or coordinate. The map centers there and highlights the neighborhood polygon that location belongs to. Selecting the neighborhood opens its aggregate Wildfire Resiliency Score in the side panel, with a breakdown of the community’s risk factors and mitigation efforts.
Will my individual property data be shared?
No. The index is built entirely on collective benefit. RedZone does not track, store or share mitigation efforts or vulnerabilities for individual private homes.
Then how is the score calculated?
From neighborhood-wide averages and percentages. Rather than flagging that a particular address has a combustible roof, the assessment reads the neighborhood as a whole — for instance, that 75% of homes there have Class A-rated or non-combustible roofing. Stakeholders can understand an area’s vulnerability without any single homeowner being exposed to scrutiny.
What are the usual concerns about sharing this data?
The common fear is being penalized: that if a platform identifies a specific vulnerability on a property, an uncleared gutter or a wooden deck, it could be used against the owner by a carrier or a regulator. RZResiliency answers that by aggregating and anonymizing every structural and mitigation input. You can search an address to find which community it sits in and how that community scores, and it is not possible to extract property-specific data from the platform.
What goes into a community’s score?
Authorized administrators complete a 62-point assessment across nine sections. Governance and planning asks whether the community has a wildfire board or action plan. Home construction and maintenance estimates the share of homes with non-combustible siding, enclosed eaves and multi-paned windows. Vegetation management covers defensible space in the immediate and extended zones. Enhanced response asks whether the neighborhood has AI early-detection camera coverage or full-time wildland fire staff.
Can I generate a report for my address?
Yes. Search an address and download a localized PDF. It centers the map on that location and shows which AI detection cameras cover the area — but the data in it reflects the neighborhood’s overall score and aggregate figures only, in line with the same privacy standard as the rest of the platform.
