Front End Developer | Mid-level Javascript Developer

RedZone is actively seeking a full time front end developer to join our engineering team. This is an opportunity to be hands-on in the development of a cloud based platform which enables real-time disaster monitoring, emergency dispatch, collaborative mapping, and advanced statistical analysis of wildfire activity.

As a developer at RedZone you will be expected to work on a shared code base of existing and greenfield projects. You will be expected to build new features while working with product owners to solidify the requirements, see those features through development, testing and deployment. A passion for working with maps is a must, but no previous GIS or cartographic experience is necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Build web applications with Javascript, React, SCSS and Mapbox.
  • Develop new user facing features.
  • Write stable, team-maintainable code and refactor existing code.
  • Collaborate with team members and product owners.
  • Work with back-end developers to integrate UI components with APIs.
  • You will have flexibility and independence in the way features are implemented and requirements are met.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn new patterns and technologies
  • Strong understanding of core web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
